Our team is conducting studies to understand decision-making under uncertainty. The study has a behavioral version and an fMRI version. Each participant will complete an initial online questionnaire battery, which takes 1 hour. If you are invited to continue, you will then be invited for a Zoom clinical interview, which takes about 2 hours. The online screening questionnaire and clinical interview are compensated at $15/hour.

Following this, if you are invited to continue and if you are interested in the fMRI version, there are 2 study sessions in which you will be asked to do some more questionnaires, decision-making tasks and a short attention and memory task. During the fMRI sessions you may receive electrical stimulation during a decision making tasks. The fMRI sessions will take place in UC Berkeley’s brain imaging facility (188 Li Ka Shing Center). fMRI sessions are compensated at $35/hour.

If you are invited to continue and are interested in the behavioral version, we will ask you to complete two in-person sessions in the Psychology Department (2121 Berkeley Way). These sessions will involve completing questionnaires, decision-making tasks and a short attention and memory task. During the behavioral sessions you may receive electrical stimulation during a decision making tasks. After these sessions are completed, we will also be inviting about half of our participants to come back for a further two similar sessions a month later. Behavioral sessions are compensated at $15/hour.

There are opportunities to earn bonus payments of $10+ in both the fMRI and behavioral versions.
