Yuen Fang

Research Assistant

Yuen I joined the Bishop lab in 2013 as research assistant and lab manager. Previously I worked in the Walker lab at UC Berkeley and graduated cum laude with a bachelor in Artificial Intelligence and a master in Cognitive Neuroscience from Radboud University (the Netherlands). My master thesis work was on the effects of genetic variations and adverse childhood events on brain morphology.

For my PhD I will work on AI for autonomous robots at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Bremen (Germany). I am very interested in the intersection of Cognitive Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence and the application of cognitive models in artificial systems. I am especially interested in learning and representation, ranging from simple actions to abstract world concepts. I enjoy traveling, programming, writing, and discussing ideas on a wide range of topics.
