Samy Abdel-Ghaffar
Graduate Student
I am a PhD student studying Cognition, Brain and Behavior through the Psychology department. I graduated from USC with a B.S. in computer science and a minor in psychology. I worked as a software engineer for 7 years before deciding to make a career change into the field of Cognitive Neuroscience. I am interested in fundamental questions concerning the nature and brain bases of emotion. I am interested in using fMRI and computational modeling to explore how valence, arousal and discrete emotions are represented in the nervous system.
