Eleanor O'Keefe

Research Assistant

Eleanor I graduated from UCSB with honors in biopsychology and from there went on to work with Sonia for a year as a research assistant. In her lab, I worked on fMRI techniques to study POIs excited by emotionally charged visual stimuli. I also helped with participant recruitment, gathering stimuli, amygdala tracing, and updating lab information. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Louisville, KY. My studies involve using psychophysics to understand the physical properties of early visual areas in the brain. I am specifically interested in cortical gain control pools in V1 and how they relate to the horizontal effect versus oblique effect.
