Barbora Jurigova
Junior Specialist
As a Junior Specialist at the Bishop Lab, I have been studying how the brain encodes emotion and identity-related information from natural images of facial expressions and how this differs in individuals with autistic and prosopagnosic traits. Affective science became my main area of interest during my master’s studies of Psychology at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic, where I investigated emotional awareness and emotion regulation in adolescents with eating disorders. I am especially interested in studying the processes, and the underlying neural mechanisms, implicated in psychopathology from a developmental perspective, with the goal of advancing early intervention and prevention of affective disorders.
